As Tropical Storm Nicole—which is expected to strengthen to hurricane status—makes its way toward the southeast Florida coast, Sarasota and Manatee county schools have both announced that schools will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 10. Sarasota County schools plan to reopen on Friday, Nov. 11, but Manatee County schools will remain closed in observance of Veterans Day.

The closures are due to the latest forecasts predicting winds of 35 miles per hour in the county. If your child attends a charter school, reach out directly to the school for updates about scheduling changes and/or potential closures.
