The downtown Sarasota space occupied by Pie on Main near the corner of Lemon Avenue and Main Street is being marketed for lease.

Hembree & Associates is advertising the 2,497-square-foot space at 1507 Main St. for $50 per square foot annually under a triple-net lease. That amounts to about $10,404 a month. Marketing materials describe the location as suitable for a pizza business or another restaurant and bar. Colaco LLC purchased the single-story building for $2 million in 2021.

Pie on Main opened Jan. 4, 2024, in the former Pizza N’ Brew space. It’s part of Watershed Hospitality Concepts, the local restaurant group whose portfolio also includes popular spots like Cask & Ale (also on Main Street), Lefty’s Oyster & Seafood Bar and Blasé Martini Bar/Pi Pizza on Siesta Key.

Pie on Main combined a pizza restaurant, sports bar and late-night music spot, with a few outdoor seats out front along Main Street. Its menu ranged from baked wings and calzones to the Beach Bum pizza, topped with Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon and ham; and the Fungi, with mushrooms, ricotta, mozzarella, truffle oil and basil. Weekends brought live music on Fridays and Saturday’s House on Main with DJ Shambala.

The listing comes amid a busy stretch of openings, reinventions and closures across Sarasota’s dining scene. New arrivals continue to give diners more choices, even as established downtown businesses such as Indigenous, Artisan Cheese Company, Fork and Hen and Brick’s Smoked Meats have closed.

Nationally, restaurant operators face persistent pressure from elevated food and labor costs and cautious consumer spending, according to the National Restaurant Association. In Florida, the minimum wage rose from $14 to $15 an hour on Sept. 30. Those conditions provide context for the challenges facing restaurants, though no reason has been confirmed for Pie on Main’s pivot.
