The Venice-based commercial construction company J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. recently hired Thomas Whelan as a superintendent. With 20 years of experience, Whelan will manage and oversee the expansion of the Margo Lang Children's Crisis Unit at Charlotte Behavioral Health Care. The $2.2 million project includes expanding a 3,600-square-foot wing to include six children’s bedrooms, an expanded children’s recreation area, a 4,400-square-foot enlargement of the administration and services area and a 1,000-square-foot increase in its adult recreation area.
