The Sarasota-based ecotourism nonprofit Ecko recently announced a new series of trips, including excursions on Sarasota Bay, the Myakka River and the Manatee River. The full- and half-day trips will take you out on the water or into the wild to explore natural landscapes and history. Ecko is a project of the Science and Environment Council of Southwest Florida, a coalition of environmental nonprofits and government organizations that works with local decision-makers to ensure that sound science and environmental principles guide public policy. All proceeds generated by Ecko tours go to support the organization's environmental programs.
