There were 106 new positive cases in Sarasota County and 160 in Manatee County. Sarasota Memorial Hospital also reported a record number of hospitalized patients, with 56, including 16 in the ICU.
However, the U.S. added 4.8 million jobs in June, the Department of Labor reported, although those numbers were compiled before COVID-19 cases began rising in states including Florida.
The hospital says the changes are part of its ongoing effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and safeguard the health of patients, staff and the community.
