Sarasota-based Omeza is launching Omeza Lidocaine Oil, an over-the-counter (OTC) external analgesic. The product is indicated for temporary relief from pain and itching from ordinary cuts, scrapes, burns, insect bites and other minor skin irritations. The oil, which comes in single use vials, is available in 14-unit boxes for $24 onĀ Amazon or directly through omeza.com. The alcohol- and irritant-free formula is rich in omega-3 and contains .8 percent lidocaine. It is water-free and fast-absorbing, meaning consumers can use a much smaller amount of lidocaine for relief. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, known to reduce inflammation, support the healing process, and provide topical nutrition to the wound environment. The oil can be applied on top of itchy, painful, or damaged skin to help protect the area while it heals.
