This week: a peppery tequila concoction delivers delicious burn.

This week: The Fire and Ice at Capital Grille

The drink: Tequila, Ancho Reyes chili liqueur, fresh cucumber, lime and Fresno peppers, garnished with rosemary. Whereas subtler spirits are suited to more delicate mixers, tequila can stand up to powerful flavors. You can still taste the tequila in this drink, alongside a pepper spice that adds flavor without destroying your taste buds, and a cool cucumber sweetness that holds everything together.

The bar: Heavy wood and high ceilings carry a touch of class at the Mall at UTC. You sort of feel like you should be sealing a business deal, even if you're just there with friends.

Other notable potables: Capital Grille is definitely down with the craft cocktail scene, with a bar menu of thoughtfully tweaked classics like the In Fashion (bourbon, Grand Marnier and walnut bitters with an orange juice ice sphere) or the Blackberry Bourbon Sidecar (Woodford Reserve steeped with blackberries, Cointreau and lemon juice, garnished with fresh thyme).
