Casey Key

Because of Hurricane Idalia, water service to Casey Key will be shut off at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 29. Water will be left on for other barrier islands, including Siesta Key. After water service ends on Casey Key, county utilities customers will not have water for use until after the storm passes.

As of now, all Sarasota County bridges will remain open to the barrier islands. However, moveable bridges are being locked in place, meaning they will be open to vehicular traffic, but closed to marine traffic. There has been a call for the barrier islands, located in Zone A, to be evacuated.

In Sarasota County, visit scgov.net or call 311 to stay up to date on all things Idalia.
