Meals On Wheels of Sarasota has announced that the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation has awarded the organization a $75,000 grant to help support its meal service program.

Meals On Wheels of Sarasota clients, who range in age from 3 to 106, receive meals because they are unable to prepare meals or go to a food pantry or grocery store. Meal recipients are frequently individuals who, with meal assistance, can remain safely independent in their homes with relatively minor help. Hundreds of volunteers help prepare, pack, and deliver 800 heart-healthy meals daily throughout the year.
