Habitat for Humanity

Bank of America recently awarded Habitat for Humanity Sarasota, Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County and Manatee County Habitat for Humanity $38,000 in grant funding, with a goal to expand the reach of affordable housing programs serving Sarasota-Manatee residents.

The funding will support the local affiliates’ goals to build eight safe, affordable and energy-efficient homes for residents; provide mortgages that do not exceed 30% of an owner's household gross monthly income; help fund the construction costs of a Bradenton home and the renovation costs of a Sarasota home; and provide classes and ongoing counseling that prepare families for homeownership and teach them valuable skills that help stabilize the neighborhoods where they live
