Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast recently named Teresa Taft as the organization's new community volunteer recruiter. Taft is a Florida native who graduated from Sarasota High School, State College of Florida and the University of South Florida. She worked for General Mills for 18 years as a sales representative and account manager, and for Suncoast Blood Bank as a major gifts coordinator. Since arriving at Big Brothers Big Sisters, Taft has formed three partnerships with local organizations and recruited more than 20 new volunteers and mentors to the organization. Big Brothers Big Sisters has been matching youth in mentoring relationships for more than 50 years. The hire was made possible by the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation.
