Window and Door Manufacturer's Sales Dip Due to Hurricane Irma
The storm caused a 2 percent drop in PGT Innovations' net sales during the third quarter of this year.
Hurricane Irma, which made landfall in Florida on Sept. 10, hurt sales of PGT Innovations' impact-resistant windows and doors, causing a 2 percent drop overall during the third quarter of this year, according to a new report issued by the company on Thursday. Sales in July and August were up 5 percent over July and August 2016, according to the company, but Irma caused a "negative sales impact of approximately $13 million ... and added $1.1 million in operating costs," according to a statement by PGT chief executive officer Rod Hershberger. PGT is headquartered in Venice.
