As of Wednesday morning, more than 150 Hurricane Irma shelters remained open in Florida, housing almost 95,000 total residents. Those numbers include four shelters in Sarasota County and one in Manatee County. As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, more than 5.2 million residences and businesses around the state were still lacking power, including almost 90,000 accounts in Sarasota County and more than 57,000 in Manatee County.
