The percentage of Floridians lacking health insurance declined from 21.3 percent in 2010 to 13.3 percent in 2015 and almost 1.6 million Floridians gained health care coverage during that same timespan, according to Obamacare data released earlier this month by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. That gain in coverage is the third highest in the United States, behind only California and Texas. Florida's 8-point drop during the span was the eighth-largest in the country, but its 2015 uninsured rate (13.3 percent) was still the fifth-highest in the nation.
