University Park Country Club members recently assisted victims of floods caused by Hurricane Hermine by donating more than $27,000 in cash and gift cards as well as enough furniture and household goods to fill a 15-foot U-Haul truck seven times and the University Park Country Club administration office four times. Total cash, gift card and in-kind donations totaled more than $40,000.

Bradenton's Eye Associates recently debuted its SightMobile, a 25-foot-long air-conditioned bus that travels throughout Manatee, Sarasota and south Hillsborough counties providing complimentary eye screenings as a community service. The SightMobile travels to local organizations and performs free distance vision screenings and glaucoma pressure screenings in five minutes or less.
