The Patterson Foundation announced Tuesday that it will provide up to $300,000 in funding and consulting support for the formation and work of the Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization. The Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization will create a plan for nearly 42 acres of land on Sarasota’s bayfront. The Patterson Foundation’s support includes a $100,000 contribution toward the formation and work of Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization, $100,000 contribution when the community donates $1 million and a $100,000 capping contribution when the community donates $2.4 million. The Bayfront Planning Organization is a new 501(c)(4) nonprofit that is an outgrowth of the Sarasota Bayfront 20:20 process. The group is charged with producing a master plan for the 42 acres based upon the community’s Guiding Principles.
