Local Republican candidates for the Florida Senate will participate in a forum at a Sarasota Tiger Bay Club luncheon that begins at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at Michael's on East, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota. Republican candidates Doug Holder, Nora Patterson, Ray Pilon and Greg Steube have agreed to attend. (An appearance by candidate Rick Levine has not yet been confirmed.) Registered Republican voters will select a general election candidate from the above list of candidates during the Aug. 30 primary. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the forum follows at noon.
