The funds, part of a $3 million commitment, come from the Ringling College Library Association to support the Alfred R. Goldstein Library and student scholarships.
Latrina Singleton is the former principal at Blackburn Elementary School in Palmetto; Danielle Delk will take over her role for the remainder of the school year.
The funds will be used to create a program that combines creative learning and classroom instruction with concepts that promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
“Talent Strong Florida” raises awareness and builds consensus around the need for education beyond high school and aims to erase educational attainment gaps.
