Snag a Frozen Cocktail at One of These Top Spots

The long, sun-soaked days are here, and our favorite way to cope is with a refreshing, slushy cocktail. Whether you prefer tropical and tart or creamy and sweet, one of these frozen concoctions with a bit of boozy kick will beat the heat.
Piña Colada at O’Leary’s Tiki Bar and Grill
5 Bayfront Park, Sarasota, (941) 203-4771, olearystikibar.com
The ultimate supreme frozen cocktail award will always go to the piña colada, and O’Leary’s view of Sarasota Bay makes it even better. Made with coconut, pineapple juice and light rum blended and topped with a dark rum floater, we promise it’s not too much rum—but maybe don’t have more than two.
Frozen Margarita at Wicked Cantina
1603 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, (941) 706-2395; 101 7th St. N., Bradenton Beach, (941) 281-2990, wickedcantina.com
This beloved Tex-Mex restaurant boasts 13 different margaritas on its menu, and all of them can be blended up. Everyone at the restaurant recommends the mango-flavored marg (pictured at top), and we’re not ones to argue. It’s made with mango purée, silver tequila, triple sec and lime, and trust us when we say life is better (for a while at least) with one of these in your hand.
Frosé at Whitney’s
6990 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, (941) 383-4606, whitneylbk.com
Several years ago, frosé took the country by storm and gained its own tagline: “Frosé All Day.” For good reason, too, because we could sip this sweet wine concoction 24 hours a day, every day. Its primary ingredient is, of course, rosé wine, and Whitney’s on Longboat Key closely guards its perfect rendition of this frosty bev.
Miami Vice at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota’s Lido Key Tiki Bar
1234 Benjamin Franklin Drive, (941) 309-2577, ritzcarlton.com
After the 2024 storm season, The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, had to shutter its iconic Lido Key Tiki Bar—but it reopened this April. Located on the hotel’s Beach Club property on Lido Key, it’s not just for hotel guests and members. Locals can belly up to the beachfront bar if they walk up from the beach, and we recommend everyone order a “Miami Vice,” a combination strawberry daiquiri and piña colada. Yes, please.
