This year there seems to be more options that ever for treating Dad to a delicious Father’s Day. While it seems most dads prefer a steak and a couch with a TV remote nearby, Sarasota offers so many options that Dad just might find himself donning his favorite shirt and loafers for a good meal.

Many restaurants participating in Savor Sarasota have announced they will continue--some through the end of June and some all summer long. Best to check the Savor Sarasota website or call your favorite restaurant to see if they will still be offering the $15 two-course lunch and $29 three-course dinner.

While Michael’s on East is not open on Sundays, its Savor Sarasota dinner menu was outstanding, and a Father’s Day eve celebration may be in-store. (Please note the price will have changed to $38 for dinner.)

Ruth's Chris is my husband’s choice. After a fabulous bone-in New York Strip dinner with Lyonnaise fingerling potatoes and a delicious yellow tomato bisque, this Sunday we will try the restaurant's Savor Sarasota menu--that is, unless he insists on the Tomahawk (meant for two people but don’t tell that to an Irishman).

Libby’s is always a comfortable choice for dads, especially with a choice of a la carte brunch and Bloody Mary bar or just a nice juicy burger and truffle fries.

If Dad has sea legs, you might want to head to Siesta Key Beach and then go straight to the Alday's truck on Bahia Vista and Beneva, or S.R. 70, and pick up barbecue for a poolside feast.

Wherever Dad chooses, there's no shortage of options. Happy Father's Day!
