Sarasota County's University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences extension office will host a free one-hour workshop on how to save energy, water and money through sustainable practices from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the Florida House Institute, 4454 Beneva Road, Sarasota. Attendees will receive a free do-it-yourself energy-saving kit worth up to $30, with compact fluorescent light bulbs, faucet aerators, a smart power strip, rope caulk and outlet-insulating gaskets and more.
