Cocktail of the Week: The Table's Ginger Bee

A ginger-licious masterpiece with a Key lime kick.

This week: The Ginger Bee at the Table Creekside

The drink: Vodka, house-infused ginger brandy, Key lime honey cubes. The ginger flavor is legit, a nice spice that bites into the sweetness of the honey, both of which are balanced by the tart Key lime. (Just a heads up: This cocktail is normally served in a glass rather than the copper mug; the glass lets the ice melt into the drink faster, so you get the full honey and lime flavors.)

The bar: If you're lucky enough to get a seat at the Table's sleek contemporary (but seating-limited) bar, treasure it; the area is oft filled with diners awaiting tables and the happy hour contingent. (For our part, we were enjoying a special event in the Table's newly expanded shop, which is now available for custom parties.)

Food: Boy howdy. The Table's got a great little selection of $5 tapas for happy hour (Chilean sea bass fritters, spinach fondue, etc.). And then if you allow yourself run of the full menu, it's a polished selection of of elegant, seafood-centric dishes.

Other notable potables: We've written about the Table's Old Oaxaca before, which should give you a sense of just how thoughtful the original cocktails here are.
