The City of Sarasota is holding a series of community meetings to discuss the city's "Ready for 100" plan, which calls for the city to make its operations 100 percent renewable by 2030 and for the entire city to operate on renewable energy by 2045. The plan was approved by the city commission in June. The goal of the first meeting is to look at the city’s current energy profile, review existing state and utility policies and brainstorm potential strategies for reaching the 100 percent renewable goal. The first meeting takes place 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 John Rivers St., Sarasota.
