The health of Sarasota's waters will be discussed at The Historical Society of Sarasota County's next Conversations at the Crocker event.

The health of Sarasota's waters will be discussed at The Historical Society of Sarasota County's next Conversations at the Crocker event, which begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the historic Crocker Memorial Church, 1260 12th St., Sarasota. John Ryan, a water expert and founding member of Sarasota Bay Watch, will lead the discussion, which will touch on shellfish in the bay, the condition of the region's mangroves, the quality of our drinking water and more. Ryan is an environmental manager with Sarasota County. The talk is free for Historical Society members and students and $10 for guests.
