Bradenton’s Mirabella, a 55-and-older neighborhood, is planning to install a solar power system to its community center, spa and swimming pool, a move expected to save the community an estimated $1,500 a month. To accomplish the conversion, Mirabella is partnering with the Florida Solar Energy Center at the University of Central Florida and the Florida company 15 Lightyears. With the elimination of propane, Mirabella will save an equivalent of approximately 1,992 gallons of gasoline.
