Looking for a fun activity you can do with the whole family—or just want some local flowers to brighten your home? Hunsader Farms is currently open for u-pick sunflowers, zinnias and wildflowers, including cosmos, sweet alyssum wild snapdragons and sunflowers from now through May.
Zinnias and wildflowers are $8 per cup of flowers (Hunsader's provides the cup), and sunflowers are $1 a stem for traditional yellow sunflowers or $3 a stem for orange, red, chocolate or purple varieties. Make sure to bring your own scissors or flower snips, as they're not provided.
As the spring progresses, u-pick produce options will also become more plentiful—currently, bell peppers and jalapeños are available for $1.09 per pound or $12 per half bushel. Check out the farm's Facebook page before you go for the most up-to-date information.
