Sarasota County will hold a free community cleanup in the Nokomis and Laurel area from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Feb. 20. Dumpsters will be available at Nippino Trail Community Center, 234 Nippino Trail E., Nokomis. Sarasota County staff will require vehicles to queue at this site in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In addition, county staff will not be able to handle any materials brought to the site due to CDC health and safety guidelines. Masks are required.
 
Hazardous waste will not be accepted at the listed location. However, it may be taken to the Sarasota County Chemical Collection Center 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. The centers are located at 8750 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota; and 250 S. Jackson Road, Venice.
 
Electronics, appliances, computers and tires no larger than 26x16 will be accepted at this site. Commercial printers will not be accepted.
