Cross-College Alliance Announces Changes Brought on by Pandemic

The Alliance's five institutions will assume responsibilities previously overseen by manager Linda de Mello.

The five institutions that comprise the local Cross-College Alliance (CCA)—FSU/The Ringling, New College of Florida, Ringling College of Art and Design, State College of Florida and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus—have announced that the CCA has pared back its administrative structure and that the heads of the five institutions will assume responsibilities previously overseen by Linda de Mello, former CCA manager.

Those responsibilities include ensuring that the schools' various administrators and faculty meet to focus on essential collective activities, including financial and academic collaborations among institutions; cross-registration (the ability of full-time students in one CCA institution to take courses at another CCA institution for credit at their own institution without paying additional tuition); providing easy access for local employers to offer internships and to hire students and graduates of CCA institutions; and retaining the linkage of student services and activities at the institutions.
