Fashion designer Michael Kors will replace Debra Messing as the celebrity guest at this year's CAN Community Health Red Ribbon Gala. In a video posted by CAN Community Health on social media yesterday, Messing shared that she ripped a tendon in her hip while working and is unable to travel, and announced that Kors, who owns a home on Longboat Key, will take her place at the gala. "I'm so heartbroken I can't be there," Messing said, "but know that I'm there in spirit, and I am your ally forever." She then added that Kors "is very funny—you might actually prefer him!"

The Red Ribbon Gala will take place this Saturday, February 22, at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota; the organization's largest annual fundraiser, it raises money to help contribute to the health and well-being of those affected by HIV, Hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted diseases. Tickets are $450.
