Monday, July 30, is the deadline to register to vote for residents hoping to vote in this year's August primary elections. All new voter registration applications or party changes must be signed and returned in person or postmarked by July 30. Paper applications are available at elections offices in Sarasota, Venice and North Port, at public libraries, military recruitment offices and public assistance offices, and may be downloaded here. An application may also be submitted online here. The August primary elections happen Tuesday, Aug. 28.
