North Venice's PGT Innovations is buying the Phoenix-based company Western Window Systems from a private equity company for $360 million. Founded in 1959, Western Window Systems designs and manufactures door and window systems that bring together indoor and outdoor spaces. Western has sales in 40 states, and gives PGT a platform from which to grow in states like California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year. PGT, which makes impact-resistant doors and windows, expanded its operations in the Miami area earlier this year, as well.
