The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund recently awarded a Bank on Fellowship to United Way Suncoast to advance banking access efforts, an initiative that will be known as Bank on Suncoast. The goal of the fund's program is to ensure that everyone has access to safe and affordable financial products and services. Local Bank On coalitions across the country work to expand access to financial products and services to the 65 million-plus people outside of the mainstream financial system who rely on alternative, costly financial services. Bank on Suncoast is one of only five Bank On coalitions across the country to be awarded a Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund grant. The Bank on Fellowship program is part of a $1 million Wells Fargo investment.
