The City of Sarasota is closing the intersection at Orange Avenue and Ringling Boulevard on Monday, Nov. 27, in order to convert the intersection into a single-lane roundabout. The project also includes infrastructure upgrades like a new water line, additional lighting for the road and sidewalk and landscaping improvements. To receive a $881,000 in grant funding provided by the Florida Department of Transportation, the improvement project was required to begin before 2018. Construction is expected to be completed by next May.
