State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota recently hired Shan-Mei Phillips as the college's assistant director of finance. Phillips previously worked for Hawaii’s Department of Education as a fiscal specialist. Prior to that, she worked as an auditor in a national public accounting firm. She has been charged with helping to improve processes at State College of Florida and plans to focus on streamlining the accounting office’s workflow.
