Ashley Brown, president and CEO of The Women’s Resource Center, recognized three local women as “Wonder Women” at the organization’s annual luncheon last week. “Wonder Women” are “women leaders who have made outstanding contributions in volunteer and/or professional activities in the areas of business, community leadership, education, health care, entrepreneurship or lifetime achievement,” according to Brown. This year’s honorees were Susie Bowie, the executive director of the Manatee Community Foundation; Jan Pullen, the head of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School; and Amanda Horne, a co-owner of the Anna Maria Oyster Bar.
