Sarasota was recently ranked as the ninth best city in Florida in which to retire by SmartAsset, a financial technology company. To compile the rankings, the firm looked at average tax rates; a city's number of doctors' offices, recreation centers and retirement centers; and the number of seniors living in each location. Naples was ranked as the No. 1 destination in the entire country. Other Florida cities in the nationwide top 10 were New Port Richey and Orange Park.
