Sarasota County Area Transit recently contracted with the private company Ride Right Transit to operate an open-air transit vehicle on Siesta Key. The free service, called Siesta Key Breeze, is a six-month pilot program partially funded by a state grant. The vehicle's path begins at Turtle Beach and passengers can pick up the circulator at all Sarasota County Area Transit stops located along Beach Road. South of Midnight Pass Road, passengers can flag the vehicle and it will stop at the safest location.
