State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota recently named Jaquelyn McNeil its dean of student services. She previously served as the director of the Academic Resource Center at the college's Bradenton campus. McNeil came to State College of Florida in 2003 as an adjunct instructor in the Language and Literature department. Since then, she has coordinated the school's Core to College grant, intended to create more dialogue and collaboration between high school and college faculty, and she has helped develop a learning community that focused on students who tested into developmental English, reading and math.
