The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority last month unanimously elected commissioner John Stafford as the group's chairman for 2017. Stafford served as vice chairman in 2016 and was appointed to the board in October 2013. He recently retired as chairman of the board of FCCI Insurance Group in Sarasota. Other board leaders include vice chairman Bob Spencer, president of West Coast Tomato, and secretary Carlos Beruff, founder of Medallian Home.
