A handful of notable women from around the world are participating in Women in a Changing World, an event presented by the Women Ambassadors and benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County that takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7. The lineup includes Gail Devers, three-time Olympic track and field gold medalist; Geraldine Fabrikant, journalist and former senior writer for The New York Times; Elinor Steele, vice president of global communications and women’s initiatives for Tupperware Brands; Kristi Breen, vice president of Disney International and campus recruiting at the Disney Company; Joan Kane, award-winning Inupiaq American poet; and Whitney Stewart, Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Youth of the Year and official youth spokesperson.

Tickets for the panel discussion (5-7:30 p.m.) are $50 per person; $200 covers both the panel discussion and the Afterglow Party. Call (941) 366-3911 for tickets. The event takes place at the Florida State Center for the Performing Arts, 5555 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
