Five entrepreneurial nonprofits from Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties were recently selected to participate in an 18-month Patterson Foundation initiative designed to build capacity, boost revenue and strengthen their impact through the development and implementation of earned-income strategies. The organizations selected are Charlotte Players, Inc.; the Florida Maritime Museum; the Gulf Coast Heritage Association (Historic Spanish Point); the Literacy Council of Sarasota; and the Manatee Players, Inc.

After launching its earned-income initiative benefiting regional nonprofits in 2015, The Patterson Foundation is expanding the reach of the program. As of July, the group of nonprofits participating in the 2015-2016 initiative earned a combined $259,813 in revenue to support their missions.
