Bradenton Golf Club Settles Bond Debt
Bradenton's Waterlefe Golf & River Club recently negotiated down its debt from more than $8.3 million to just over $2.5 million.
Bradenton's Waterlefe Golf & River Club recently settled its longtime bond debt, negotiating down its debt from more than $8.3 million to just over $2.5 million. Homeowners there will pay assessments totaling less than $7,000 per household, spread out in annual payments over the course of the next 20 years. Waterlefe inherited the bond debt after developer WCI Communities filed for bankruptcy in 2009. In the years since, the golf course has not generated enough revenue to pay the bonds.
