All Faiths Food Bank was selected to pilot an online summer food referral program to connect children and families in need to summer food programs in Sarasota and Desoto counties. A member of the Feeding America network, All Faiths Food Bank is one of 11 food banks participating in this pilot program, which is funded by the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation. All Faiths Food Bank has used this support to develop, market and maintain a “food map” on its website. The food map, which is regularly updated, features every food program in Sarasota and Desoto, including mobile pantries, Sprout Mobile Farm Markets, school pantries, summer breakspots, summer backpack locations, and major agency partners such as the Salvation Army, YMCA and Early Learning Coalition.  In Sarasota, more than 21,000 children this summer lost access to public schools’ free and reduced-price meals.
