Americans' personal income increased $69.8 billion, or 0.4 percent, while disposable personal income increased $63.5 billion, or 0.5 percent, in April, according to new numbers from the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis. Wages and salaries increased $38.6 billion in April, compared with an increase of $30.7 billion in March. Private wages and salaries increased $37.2 billion in April, while government wages and salaries increased $1.4 billion.
