Citizens who have signed up for Sarasota County's CodeRED Emergency Notification System will receive a test call on Tuesday, May 3. The test calls will give Sarasota County staff the chance to operate the system as if there has been a community-wide disaster. The CodeRED system allows county residents to receive calls, email alerts or text messages in the event of an emergency that could impact your neighborhood or business. Alerts include water or sewer interruptions, missing person alerts and major traffic detours, among others. Click here to sign up to receive notifications.
