Social Media

BlogAs businesses connect with customers through Facebook and Twitter, it’s easy to forget that those sites do not automatically direct people to your website. For improved traffic and search engine optimization (SEO), consider adding blogs to your social media repertoire. Rachel Gamburd, a marketing assistant with Sarasota-based Strive Media, helps oversee blogs with a combined total of 1.4 million email subscribers. “Content is king,” she says, “and it helps with your organic SEO.” Gamburd says blogs go hand in hand with Facebook—you can link to blogs on Facebook and drive traffic to your website. When you write a new blog, keep your audience in mind. “Most people on the Internet are searching for something, asking ‘What’s in it for me?’” says Gamburd. If blogging is new for your business, plenty of online resources (Gamburd recommends ProBlogger or CopyBlogger) can help you get started.
