For the second time, Orange Moon Interiors of Bradenton has earned a “Best Of Houzz” design award on Houzz, a leading platform for all things home interiors–think Pinterest, Amazon and Angie’s List for home design rolled into one.

After a year like none other, Orange Moon Interiors' owner and full-time single mom Kelly Kaiser is thrilled and grateful to her clients. She navigated homeschooling and a business standstill in March but was flooded with projects a few months later. A few of them included a beach-front residence on Longboat Key and a renovation of a historic Holmes Beach Gulf-front vacation rental.

She describes her signature style as “modern lines with traditional accents. I use birds, dogs, texture and organic material. Even if a home is on the modern side, everyone wants to feel comfortable and I take that house and turn it into a home."

“I like to incorporate family photos too," she adds.

After more than 20 years in the design-build business, Kaiser says the firm has perfected its beach house designs. Next, she is launching a new branch of the business called Manor House Design at the end of the year. It will boast a more, “traditional Ralph Lauren look for our clientele who have homes in other regions of the country, away from the coast,” she says. Many of her clients have homes in both Florida and South Carolina, where textures like velvet might work better than they would on Holmes Beach, for instance.

As far as trends go, Kaiser's advice is to “not follow them too closely." She’s looking forward to ushering out the gray craze and welcoming more “happy hues."
