Gibsonton, located about 45 miles to our north, has always been famous as a circus town, the place where the carnies and the sideshow freaks spend the winter. Its housing stock is modest at best, which makes this week’s house all the more amazing: an $18 million mansion (well, $17,999,999) with interiors right out of Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World.

From the outside it looks like any other 10,000-square-foot McMansion: Mediterranean architecture, a soaring entrance way, tile roof, spacious motor court. But once you get inside, a Disney-like approach to interior decorating takes over and you’ll find marble floors, columns with gold leaf, coffered ceilings, chandeliers and custom woodwork.

The Disney castle is based on Neuschwanstein, the home of Mad King Ludwig of Bavaria, and the Gibsonton home—called the Victory Mansion—is a worthy descendant. Even the setting itself is remarkable: a 159-acre waterfront parcel that offers complete privacy and unobstructed views over the water to downtown Tampa and St Pete.

Other amenities include a tennis court, movie theater, gym, infinity pool and spa, and dock with lift. And check out the Moorish room, suitable for entertaining an Arabian prince, or perhaps just an evening alone with your hookah.

12147 S. 41st St. Hiway, Gibsonton, is priced at $17,999,999. For more info call Donna Miller of Coldwell Banker at 727-520-2737.
