A Gulf-Front Lot on Siesta Key Sells for $5 Million

The lot, at 4266 Higel Ave., is the priciest residential land sale in Sarasota or Manatee counties to date in 2020.

A 1.3-acre vacant Gulf-front lot with a private beach at 4266 Higel Ave. on Siesta Key has sold for its asking price of $5 million, making it the highest priced residential land sale in Sarasota or Manatee counties to date in 2020, according to Jamie and Mark Coppens of Living Vogue Real Estate. 

The Coppens represented the buyers, a family that will be relocating from out of state and will be spending the next couple of years building a custom 8,000-square-foot home on the property to use as their main residence, says Jamie Coppens.

"They chose this particular lot because they preferred Siesta Key over other keys, an actual beach was the top requirement (a sea wall home would not suffice), and because of its convenient proximity to the Village," says Coppens. "They also enjoyed that the lot offered views of Big Pass and all its fun happenings."

Coppens says the family had never been to Sarasota before. "But Mark and I devoted ourselves to helping them see how wonderful it is to call Sarasota home," she says. "As a brokerage, we’re very lifestyle centric so it’s important for us to showcase Sarasota in that fashion. We discussed local schools, the best places to eat, events throughout the year, where to shop, the arts scene, and more. Having relocated here myself, these details are so valuable to me." 

The lot had been on the market 89 days; Michael Hays of Michael Saunders & Company was the listing agent.
