Lakewood Ranch Medical Center's new Freestanding Emergency Department (FED) is now open, offering expanded access to emergency care in Sarasota County. Located on the east side of I-75 at 6760 Fruitville Road, the full-service emergency department will provide emergency care 24 hours a day by a board-certified physician, seven days a week.

The FED offers care for all ages, treatment for major and minor conditions, and a full-service laboratory and radiology services, including X-ray and CT. It receives ambulances and most insurances are accepted.
